Well I finished up the Witch Hunter Warband for Mordheim, here they are in all their glory.
Here is my little section of cyber-space dedicated to my hobby of war gaming. I will post thoughts, ideas, reviews and what ever else my mind can come up with.

Witch Hunter Warband grows and rats!
So,
Painting continues on my Witch Hunter warband, painted up four more figures to join the brave group getting ready to return to the cursed city!
Four more members for the crusade to the Cursed City
I still have about 6 more figures to paint up for the warband, all being the Witch Hunters themselves, wanted to save those for last to spend some time with them. I am really liking this project and getting to paint some old models from my mounds of lead.
I also happened to unearth my sons old Skaven warband that was packed away in the closet, so I will be tackling these rats next, I was surprised to find them as I was on the search for STL files of Ratmen which there are a bunch out there, which I may have a friend print for me, we will see.

Going back...to the Cursed City!
So,
It seems I have been thinking about the "good Old Days" of gaming and Youtude must be taped into my brain, as my feed recently had a video on the 1999 GW game Mordheim! For those too young to remember the 1999 games, Mordheim was a Cursed city in the Old World Empire that was destroyed by a twin tale comet. Now the cursed city lures would be treasure hunters to it to loot for warp stone.
For me this was an awesome game and for my son, it was his first true war game to play. He had a warband of Skaven and was lead by his creative named leader, Copper Head! But it taught him how to play games and many adventures were played in the cursed city. So Mordheim has a special place in my gaming histroy tied to my son.
The cursed City Rulebook
So besides YouTube taunting me, I was able to score a few older GW minis that I was going to use for other skirmish Horror games. I was able to locate the Undead figure and a few months back painted them up, not realizing that they may be the first warband to venture back into the cursed city.
Undead Warband
Along with the Undead figures, I was able to find a complete Witch Hunter warband and was also working on painting those up, but lost interest and did not finish. But it seems that they found their way back onto the paint desk this afternoon.
Complete Witch Hunter Warband!
I also found a few marionburg models, but not sure if its a full warband but honestly they are not my style with their fluffy shirts and such. But at least I have the models.
Marioburger mercs
So now I am looking at building a ruined city board with terrain, may go all old school and try to stay away from the Laser cut look. I want that old school vibe and lots of scattered terrain. This could be the next big project for me for the new year, so stay tuned.

Dwarven Pirates!
Good Morning all you salty old dogs!
Today a quick update on a few really old models. So many moons ago I used to play a GW classic game called Mordheim, I had a few warbands from the lists in the book but wanted a dwarven warband (the rules released with Town Cryer). But I had this great idea of using the Long Drongs Dwarven Pirates which were a Unit of Renown for Warhammer Fantasy Mercenaries unit.
Well as soon as I saw these models I knew I had to buy them and would use them for Mordheim and started painting them. But then we stopped playing and the group I played with went their separate ways.
Dwarven Pirates!
So the dwarves got put into a box half finished and left they way they were for many many more moons. But then last week when I got the itch to paint up some of my Historical Pirates, I remembered these guys, so the hunt was on to find them.
I did locate them and as I looked at them I decided to mount them on 25mm rounds (1" washers actually) and decided to finish them up. I have to say Iloved this little project and there was ot much left to do on the models and was a nice little break.
So what started out well over 20+ years ago finally got finished and the models look awesome, it actually has me thinking about using them for Mordheim again, hmmm.

Welcome to the World Famous Jungle Cruise!
Welcome aboard brave adventures, just a quick post today. Last week was my birthday and I was lucky enough to get an awesome sign from nicks_fix_las_vegas on Instagrahm. Nick makes some cool custom Disney Attractions signs. Being an ex skipper myself, I saw this sign and had to have it.
Sign is about 32" long by a foot tall, and the lights do work!
I was more then excited when I got this, and it takes me back to the Jungle every time I look at it. Nick has an Etsy page: etsy.me/2F8LsIU, go check him out if your into Disney attractions.

Avast me hearties!
Funny what time and a movie will do, so this past weekend I was scrolling thru the old tv stations and landed on Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl, which has held up over the years.
Now after sitting there memorized watching the move, I got the bug to bust out a few miniatures from Black Scorpion and a few others. I have been working on a few at a time and the crew is growing. Its nice to come back to the pirates again, feels very comforting.

Something Old is New Again
So,
A few of us were talking about 6 months ago about how GW keeps changing rules and is now more about selling books then great games. That got us talking about the good old days and we started talking about games like Epic and Warmaster. Well thanks to these glorious days we live in and the fact that 3d printers are getting better, we now have access to models for a cool game.
Well I asked my buddy Tom if he could print a few things and I have been painting up some models, here is my latest efforts.

Star Wars galore around here!
So, been busy with more painting of the Skullforge Studios models for my Wiley Games Galactic Hero's Star Wars game:
Townsfolk
More Townsfolk
A Darth Sith and a Lone Star
Lone Star and his faithful loyal companion Barf
So I am pretty much down to models for the town, I always like having little extras on the game table. So many games I see dont take in account for people actually living there, so for this game I want as many extra models running around as well.
Okay, back to painting.

Legendary Vikings!
So,
Sorry, been busy doing some painting on a few Viking models that I had around the old game room. Now most of these will be used for Warlords of Erehwon and I think I painted up about 136 models or so. Most of the models are Gripping Beast plastics, but there is also Wargames Factory models, Footsore models, Old Glory, North Star, Gorgon Studios and some Foundry in there as well. I really wanted to get this done so I can start using them for WoE and for my upcoming Viking rules that I am writing. So here are the pictures:

And even more GB Plastics!
All in all I really like how these models came out, this is not all of them, but just a few. Now I have to get back to writing and trying to decide what else to paint.

New project on the horizon
So,
As some will know, I have a few games I created in years past, both historical games. One was a huge hit (Legends of the High Seas), the other was just okay Heroic). Both were produced by other companies and my overall experience has been mixed. Yes its cool to have your work published, but its another when they get the rewards for all that you have done.
Well for the longest time, I have thought about going the self publishing route, I want to have full control of the process and also reap the rewards myself. So after talking to the wife and some close friends, I think I am going to take the leap into trying my hand at self Publishing my own rules.
So what could it possibly be you ask? Well once again a few folks know that I am a huge lover of skirmish games. So the focus will be based on those. I love games that do not require a ton of models and I think that most people can get a small force painted up rather quickly. I also love the fact that 3D printing is taking off, you can pretty much find a ton of STL files for just about anything you may want. This too will allow people at home with printers to have access to a ton of figures.
I also want to keep this skirmish game based on historical periods, I am looking at doing various time frames using the core rule set to be able to play any period. I am a huge fan of Wiley Games and love how Jaye has done this with his own rules. Now some may ask or suggest just playing his rules, which I do, but I want to play with my own rules.
So what periods am I looking at, well to start, looking at Dark Ages and a focus on Vikings, then would love to do some Samurai, Crusades, Pirates (of course!) as well as stuff like Teddy Roosevelts Rough Riders, WW1 or WW2 and even Vietnam (thats a long way off though). But first will be dark ages for sure.
I am also looking at keeping the rules right around $15.00 for a printed book, also looking at maybe doing some scenario cards or mission cards. The main book will have themed scenarios in it, but I want to add a few more and like the card idea.
So there you go, I see Long ships on the Horizon with a bunch of scary looking Viking Raiders sailing for glory and treasure, much like I see myself right now going down this self publishing route. So stay tuned, will be using this blog to show off some of the work that I am doing...
